Elmer H. Drescher Bay City, Michigan

Elmer H. Drescher, of Bay City, beloved father, grandfather and brother, passed away early Friday morning, July 27, 2012 at his residence, age 94. The son of the late Henry & Bertha (Ott) Drescher, he was born February 22, 1918 in Bay County. Elmer was a lifelong farmer. He was a man of great Christian faith and was devoted to his church, St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. On March 1, 1942 Elmer married the former June M. Schuchardt and she preceded him in death on December 27, 2001. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Al & Gaynell Drescher and Thomas & Linda Drescher, all of Bay City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ella & Clifford McKinnon of Linwood and Carol & Mark Duncan of Bay City; 11 grandchildren, Tom Jr., Derek, David, Brent, Kari, Crystal, Kirk, Michael, Kendra, Stephanie and Heather; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna “Dee” Wilson; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Fournier and Lorraine (Charles) Uberroth; and several nieces & nephews. Elmer was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold (Caroline) Drescher and George (Lillian) Drescher; and two brothers-in-law, Raymond Fournier and Robert Wilson. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of The Carriage House for the exceptional care and comfort they gave to Elmer during his time there. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 30, 2012 at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church, 997 Beaver Rd., Kawkawlin. Officiating will be Rev. Andrew Lindke. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Drescher will lie instate at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
