Virginia R. Sheppard

Sheppard, Virginia R. of Bay City, Michigan passed away Thursday afternoon August 9, 2012 at Brian’s House. Age 85 years. She was born March 15, 1927 in Au Gres, Michigan. Mrs. Sheppard was a member of First United Methodist Church, she was an avid sports fan and most of all she had a great love for her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. On May 29, 1948 she married her husband of sixty four years Wayne M. Sheppard and he survives her passing along with one daughter and son-in-law; Jacqueline and Alan Ruegsegger of Bay City, two sons and one daughter-in-law; Charles W. Sheppard of Bay City and Richard C. and Sally Sheppard of Frankenmuth, six grandchildren; Mark and Jennifer Ruegsegger , Matt and Keri Ruegsegger, Sara and Josh Werner, Ashley Sheppard, Adam and Nikki Sheppard and Alexandria Sheppard, eight great grandchildren and the family is expecting the ninth, two sisters and one brother-in-law; Jacqueline L. Hudson of Bay City and Barbara A. and Robert Carlson of Lake View, OR and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Mary (Engelman) Johannes and two brothers; Edwin and Orion Johannes. Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church 300 N. Wenona St. Bay City, MI 48706. Officiating will be Rev. Debbie Thomas with interment following in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The Family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. to receive family and friends on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m.. Mrs. Sheppard will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services.
