Alta, loving wife and caring mother, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at age 92. Born May 5, 1922 in Beaverton Township, she was the daughter of the late Seth and Margery (Hartley) Mosher, She was a lifelong resident of Bay City and a member of Peoples Baptist Church. Alta married Bernard Morse on August 8, 1942 and they shared 52 years together raising their five children. He predeceased her in August of 1994. Alta was a homemaker who enjoyed a good game of cards, bingo, and reading. She also enjoyed presenting many of her handmade articles of knitting, crocheting, and sewing at various bazars. She enjoyed the annual family reunions that brought out the smiles and good times. Alta is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Arthur) Beffrey; sons, Terrance (Beverly) and Dennis (Diane) Morse; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Mosher, Betty Parker, and Virginia Kimmel; and special caring niece, Kim Mosher. In addition to her husband, Bernard, she was preceded in death by her sons, Michael and Gary; daughter-in-law, Carol; and granddaughter, Kimberly; as well as 5 brothers and 8 sisters. The family would like to give a special thank you to Southern Care and Linwood Residence (Dee Hayati and staff) for all their loving care of our beloved mother. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel R. Hester with committal following in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services.
