Arnold F. Currey

Mr. Arnold Frank Currey, of Lutz, Florida, and formerly of Bay City, passed away early Friday morning, January 12, 2018, at Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, Florida, age 94. The son of the late Frank & Edna (Haggitt) Currey, he was born January 15, 1923, in Unionville, Michigan.  On May 6, 1944, Arnold married Eleonore L. Feyerabend in San Antonio, Texas, where Arnold was stationed during WWII.  They were married for 69 years, until Eleonore's passing in 2013. Arnold and Eleonore were long-time members of Zion Lutheran Church in Bay City.  Arnold was a bookkeeper.  He finished his career with the late Carl Schilling, CPA.
Arnold is survived by a son, Colonel Richard F. (Susan) Currey (USAF, Ret.), of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a daughter, Judy A. (Gordon) VanLoon of Lutz, Florida; five grandchildren, Sean (Denise) Currey, Roger (Laura) VanLoon, Robin Currey (Smail Bouferguene), Frank (Lela) VanLoon, and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Morse; eleven great-grandchildren, Austin, Zachary, Benton, Eric, Kahina, Xavier, Logan, Maxwell, Daniel, Thomas, and Elizabeth; and his special friends and Bay City neighbors, Dick & Jan VanNostrand. In addition to his parents and his wife, Arnold was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jared Currey.
Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt.  Private interment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Memorial contributions for Zion Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
