Betty Jane Ott (Hartley) Bay City, Michigan Our loving mother, grandmother and sister went to her heavenly home Thursday afternoon June 23, 2016 at Bay Shores Nursing Center in Bay City. Age 89 years. The daughter of the late Peter and Lorena (Wetters) Hartley was born July 12, 1926 in Kawkawlin, MI and has resided in the area all of her life. Mrs. Ott was an active member of St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church, she was formerly employed and was the C/O owner of White Birch Golf Course. Betty enjoyed traveling, reading and crossword puzzles and most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family Left to cherish her memories are one daughter and son-in-law; Janet and Jim Lorenz of Watertown, WI, one son; Michael Ott of Bay City, two granddaughters and their spouses; Michelle and Shawn Abts and Jennifer and Rev. Jonathan Schroeder, six great grandchildren; Nathan, Caleb and Jadin Abts and Keith, Justin and Emily Schroeder , her brothers and sisters; Mildred (Herman) Roth, Glenn (Marcie) Hartley, Irene Hartley, Robert (Eleanor) Hartley, Richard Hartley, Ronald (Diana) Hartley and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. On April 17, 1948 she married Ervin F. Ott and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2012. She was also preceded in death by one daughter; Marsha Ott, three brothers; Miles Hartley, Raymond Hartley and Gilbert Hartley. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Andrew Lindke with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. to receive visitors on Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Ott will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial cards will be available for St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church or the Donor's Favorite Charity.
