C. Steve Walczak Bay City, Michigan Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, October 11, 2016 at his home in Bay City, Michigan. Age 75 years. The son of the late Joseph and Helen (Andrzejewski) Walczak was born April 18, 1941 in Flint, Michigan and resided in Bay County most of his life. Mr. Walczak was a member of Corpus Christi Parish - Holy Trinity Church and 1982 he served as the president of the Bay County Board of Realtors. He graduated from Pinconning High School in 1959 and began his career at Dow Chemical Company where he was employed for many years. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to become the founder of Dial Real Estate Co. which he operated from 1975 to 1991. Steve enjoyed many successful years in real estate and became the general manager of Top Producers Inc. in 1996 and retired in 2006 and was a great leader and mentor to many. In his free time he enjoyed spending time at his cabin on Secord Lake with his family. He had a great joy for traveling and cruising around the world with his wife Sally and many wonderful friends. He truly lived life to the fullest. He was a proud father and grandfather and was always concerned about helping others. His compassion, kindness, great sense of humor and generosity over the years embraced the lives of many. On June 18, 1960 he married his loving wife of fifty six years the former Sally F. Latosky in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church and she is left to cherish his memories along with four daughters; Debra (Don Hamel) Maxson of Bay City, Barbara Morina of Bay City, Shelly (Mark Shellhorn) Walczak of Midland and Vicki (Alan) Schlatter of Bay City, seven grandchildren; Janelle Maxson and her fiancé Tim Farrow of Malaysia, John Maxson of Denver, CO, Michael Maxson of Bay City, Weston Shellhorn of Midland, Travis Schlatter, Carlie Schlatter and Evan Schlatter all of Bay City, three step grandchildren; Lauren (Michael) Schwab, Logan Hamel and Lyndsay Hamel all of Bay City, brother and very special friend; David (Ruth) Walczak of Pinconning, brother; Donald Walczak of Pinconning, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Paul and Nancy Madaj of Scottsdale, AZ, Kevin and Judy Rice of Bay City, Randy and Patricia Cox of Auburn and many nieces, nephews, cousins and amazing friends. Besides his parents, Joseph and Helen, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, his mother-in-law; Frances Debo, his father-in-law; Anthony Latosky and one sister-in-law; Frances "Minnie" Walczak. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Church 1000 S. Wenona St. Bay City, MI 48706. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Kevin N. Kerbawy with the Rite of Committal following in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. The Vigil for the deceased will take place Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be present at the funeral home on Friday to receive visitors from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Walczak will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
