Carolyn "Pat" Carson

Carolyn "Pat" Carson of Hampton Township, Essexville, Michigan. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Bay Medical Care Facility at the age of 87 years. The daughter of the late David and Marion (Fuger) Sullivan was born April 2, 1927 in Bay City, Bay County, Michigan and has resided in this area all of her life. She was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, retired from the Bay County Council on Aging, and enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. Left behind to cherish her memory are seven children: Linda (Jim) Maze, Elyce Rexer, Kathy (Steve Brechler) Carson, Craig (Dianne) Carson, Mary Jo (Jeff ) Strohman, Tom Carson and his fiancé Deb Bowen, and Amy (Pat) Weiler; fourteen grandchildren: William (Kathy) Maze, Brent (Stacy) Maze, Matthew (Paula) Rexer, Tracie (John) Harris, Elizabeth (Matt) Walkowiak, Emily (Noah Botimer) Carson, Clint, Clay, and Emma Strohman, Katelyn Carson, Jordan, Carly, Gavin, and Alexis Weiler; nine great-grandchildren: Alex and Evan Maze, Caden, Charlie and Carter Maze, Kara and Mary Rexer, Alyssa and Andrew Walkowiak; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Murray Sullivan and Mike (Pat) Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Ray Rexer, her daughter-in-law Karen Carson, and her sisters Jeanette Pelletier, Maureen Derosier, Jackie Spencer, Kate Musser, Rosemary Beson, Ann Volk, and Evelyn Dishaw. The Carson family would like to thank the staff of one east, especially Mary and Carmen, at Bay Medical Care Facility for the kind and compassionate care they provided for Pat. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish / St. John the Evangelist Church at 614 Pine St., Essexville, Michigan. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Dale A. Orlik with the Rite of Committal following in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may visit Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pat will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
