Chester S. Sosnowski, of Kawkawlin, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Huron Woods Nursing Home with his family by his side at the age of 88 years. The son of the late Anthony and Mary (Kania) Sosnowski was born April 26, 1925 in Pinconning, Michigan. Chester retired from Newcor as a Machinist. He was a ham radio operator, a member of the Bay Area Amateur Radio Club and the Knights of Columbus council # 2748 in Essexville. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Hancock during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by one brother; Felix Sosnowski and one sister; Tillie Galloner, his special nephew and his wife; Ray and Carol Ruszala, his special niece and her husband; Arlene and Ken Musser and many other nieces and nephews and his special neighbors, Jane and Terry. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife; Hattie Jean Sosnowski, his sisters; Lena Ruszala, Florence Donzell and Mary Dryer, his brothers; Leon, Clarence, John and Vincent Sosnowwski. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to the staff of Huron Woods Nursing Home and his special friend Harvey at Huron Woods for the kind and compassionate care they gave to Chester the last few years. Private graveside services took place at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating was Sr. Mary Epple R.S.M. followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council.
