Skrzypczak, Daniel V. "Dan" Bay City, Michigan Mr. Skrzypczak passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. Age 84 years. He was born March 27,1926 in Bay City for many years. Dan was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic and the League of Catholic Women and Men, he was a retired plasterer and a member of the BMP International Union. He was inducted in the Bay County Sports Hall of Fame, a member the Michigan High School Athletics Association, the Saginaw YMCA, Saginaw Area Handball Association and was a local sports figure. He was a decorated U.S. Marine veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze star on Iwo Jima. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; J. Andrew and Jill M. Skrzypczak, two grandchildren; Skyler Daniel and Nicole Marie, his nieces and nephews; Floyd and Kathy Booth, Norman and Eileen Jonas, Marilyn Jonas, James Jonas, Daniel Victor Skrzypczak and Amy Perkins. On November 19, 2000 he was preceded in death by his wife Sherry (Harrington) Skrzypczak A Memorial Mass will take place Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 1008 S. Wenona. Celebrant will Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm with private Inurnment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. At the request of Mr. Skrzypczak cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.. The family will be present at the church on Thursday to greet family and friends from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of the service.
