David "Joe" Carl LaRose

LaRose, David "Joe" of Bay City, Michigan passed away early Friday morning May 4, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region with his family at his side. Age 79 years. He was born April 17, 1933 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. Joe attended St. Mary's Catholic Church, served with the United States Army as a paratrooper, was a member of the Knights of Columbus # 414, and the Muskrat Club. He started his career as a sales representative at Becker Distributing and retired from Fabiano Brothers. Joe enjoyed fishing, was an avid sports fan, enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his former wife and best friend; Betty LaRose, his children and their spouses; Catherine Brock of Omaha, Nebraska, John and Denise LaRose of Manassas, Virginia, Jennifer and Mark Kretz of Freeland and Jeffrey LaRose of Bay City, his daughter-in-law; Terry LaRose of Seminole, FL, nine grandchildren and his lifelong friends; Dick Arnold, Mick Redmond and Jim Coonan. He was preceded in death by his parents; William and Pearl (Mayhew) LaRose, one son; Joseph J. LaRose and two brothers; Thomas LaRose and Harvey LaRose. At the request of Mr. LaRose cremation has taken place. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday May 5, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. to receive visitors. At 4:00 p.m. members of the Bay County Veterans Council will conduct Military Honors and at 7:00 p.m. members of the Knights of Columbus # 414 will be present for Bible Presentation followed by a brief Memorial Service conducted by his son John. Following the visitation and Memorial Service a Celebration of Joe's Life will take place at Tubby's Pub in Bay City. For those planning an expression of sympathy the family ask that you consider a memorial to the Wishes of the Family.
