Debra Lynn (Wood) Cataldo, our loving mother and daughter, passed away on May 31, 2016 due to injuries sustained in a fire at her home in Howell, NJ, age 50. She was born on May 25, 1966 in Bay City. Debra graduated from John Glenn High School and went on to earn a business degree from Western Michigan University. She moved to Boston where she worked for ADP, Inc. Debra then married and raised her family. Her five children were her pride and joy. Debra had a passion for fashion design and loved to cook. She also enjoyed coming back to Michigan to visit family and friends.
Debra is survived by her five children, her twins Jessica and John III, Julia, Joseph and Jianna, and their father and the love of Debra's life, John Cataldo, II; her mother, Patricia Cormier-Wood of Hale, MI; her sister, Cindy (James) Randazzo of New Jersey; a brother, Richard (Boryana) Wood of Bay City; her God-parents, Donald and Kay Grischke, Sr.; her close friends, Shelby Kuch and Jennifer Reinke; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Debra was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Squire Wood; step-father, Mark E. Cormier; her grandparents, Theodore and Lorraine LaLonde and Claude and Hazel Miller; and an uncle, Virgil LaLonde.
A Memorial Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Parish, St. Mary's Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, June 12th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday, June 13th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Parish Vigil Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family which will go towards Debra's children's college funds.
