Derek entered into eternal peace with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Ann Arbor, MI at the age of 32 years. Derek was attending the 242 Community Church. Derek enjoyed seeking the Lord and studying God's Word, spending time with his family and had a passion for physical fitness and a desire to help others and lead them to the Lord. Left behind to cherish Derek's memory is his wife; Ahja Reno, his stepson; Cristopher Correll, his mother; Dawn Reno, his sisters; Dayna Pembroke and Darby Diehl, his grandparents; Walter and Joyce Schrenk , Richard and Ruth Diehl, his aunts and uncle; Karen and Ted Bullinger and Family, Nadine and Bill Dahlquist and Family, Bryan Troike and Family, John, Mark and Rich Diehl and numerous close cousins and friends. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church (706 W. Jane St., Bay City, MI 48706). Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schweppe with private interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. to receive family and friends on Wednesday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Derek will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at 242 Community Church in Ann Arbor (410 S. Maple Rd. Ann Arbor, MI 48103.) In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy in Derek's memory may wish to consider donations to Dawn Farms Inc. (Transitional Housing Program) 6633 Stoney Creek Rd. Ypsilanti, MI 48197.
