Donna M. Tierney

Donna passed away on Tuesday afternoon, April 24, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 82 years. Donna was born in Bay City on March 23, 1936 to the late Walter and Lillian Johnson. She was a longtime member of Messiah Lutheran Church and worked as a social worker for the State of Michigan for over 30 years retiring in 1998. In her spare time she enjoyed plastic model building and reading.
Donna is survived by her children, Denise and David (Katrina) Tierney; grandchildren, Samuel and Alexandra Buchhage, Elise (Michael) Knudson and Evelyn Tierney; great grandson, Gabriel Knudson; brother, Donald (Martha) Johnson; sister, Beverly King and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister, Paula Johnson.
Per Donna's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at Messiah Lutheran Church on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Andreas H. Teich. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
