Earl W. Bayliss

Earl W. Bayliss of Bay City, 89 years old, died peacefully June 14, 2010 at Brian's House. He was born January 10, 1921, the son of Wesley Bayliss & Gladys Sprague. In 1936 he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps, (CCC) and has been a member since. Between 1939 - 1945 Earl worked at Fisher Body, drove truck for Armour Meats, Albert Todd Elevator, J.A. Douglas and Arora Gasoline Co. In 1946 he moved to Bay City and began driving for Ogden Muffitt Gasoline Co., Matlock and R.A. Moulder, which he retired from after 35 years. Earl is survived by his beloved children, Geoffrey (Doloris) Bayliss, Linna Bayliss (Thomas) Earle, Sally Bayliss Weaver, Mary Bassett, Robert (Doris) McKee, Dennis McKee, Michael (Helen) McKee, Jody Bayliss (Jeffry) Nashatka and Tamara Bayliss (Ron) Butterfield; 31 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Vera Sparks. Earl was preceded in death by Genevieve (Lemuel) Bayliss, his wife of 50 years; a son, Gary McKee; son-in-law, Robert 'Butch' Bassett; a brother, Lyle Sparks; a sister, Frances Mallory; and a brother-in-law, Chuck Mallory. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rev. Kim Lewis, Rev. Andreas Teich, the staff of Bay Medical Care Facility and Brian's House. A graveside memorial service will take place at 3:00pm on Sunday August 22, 2010 at Floral Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Kim Lewis officiating.
