Sutter, Eileen M. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Sutter passed away Thursday morning October 14, 2010 at her residence. Age 86 years. The daughter of the late Joseph R. and Helen E. Dumas was born on February 28, 1924 in Bay City, Michigan. She was the devoted wife of Emil D. Sutter whom she married on February 23, 1946 in St. James Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2001. She was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church. Eileen was an accomplished artist in needlework and her children and grandchildren have pieces of her work. She decorated wedding cakes for thirty seven years and loved her and Emil's camping club. Eileen believed her greatest accomplishment in her life was caring for her family and loved spending Christmas mornings with them. She served with the United States Navy during World War II. She was the cherished mother of Paula (Allan) Dupont, Andrea (Robert) Stewart, Michael (Vicki) Sutter, Mark (Evelyn) Sutter, Gregory (Janet) Sutter, Roberta Sutter, Gretchen (Rodolfo) Velasquez, Kristin (Rodney) Chevalier, the adored grandmother to Rob Stewart, Jason and Lisa Stewart, Jeffrey and Shawn Sutter, Kevin and Kristin Sutter, Daniel and Jesse Shattuck, Rachael and Phil Watts, Sarah and Mark Geisler, Mindy and Jason Smith, Tyler and Ashley Velasquez, Amanda Velasquez, Zachary Chevalier and Jeremiah Dupont. She was the great grandmother to her special thirteen great grandchildren and the fourteenth one due in December 2010. Also surviving Eileen is one brother; Gregory Dumas of Studio City, CA, one sister-in-law; Alma Olson of Bay City, many nieces and nephews. She had several special people in her life and they also survive her passing, Barb Schaaf, Alison Moore who never forgot Eileen on Sunday, Dee and Don Prest, Barb Lofton, her cat; Buddy whom filled her heart after Emil's death and Trixie. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter; Shannon Sutter and two brothers; Richard Dumas and Joseph "Ray" Dumas A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church (1106 State St.) Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Dale A. Orlik with a Private Rite of Committal Service at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. At the request of Mrs. Sutter cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.. The Family will be present at the church on Monday to receive visitors from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of the Mass. Memorial cards for Hospice Advantage will be available.
