Geraldine M. Schiell "Dina" Bay City, Michigan
Our loving mother, grandmother and sister passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, April 9, 2016 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Age 85 years. The daughter of the late Stephen J. and Blance I. (Reder) Koscielski was born July 24, 1930 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish- Holy Trinity Church and the League of Catholic Men and Women. Geraldine graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1946.
Left to cherish her memories are two daughters; Diane Cobley and Susan Miller both of Bay City, one son and one daughter-in-law; David and Barbara Schiell of NC, four grandchildren; Craig and Lisa Schiell, Troy and Michelle Schiell, Kayla and David Hensiek and Eric Cobley, one step granddaughter; Tammy Bradbury, six great grandchildren, one sister and brother-in-law; Paulette and Tom Bromberg, one brother and sister-in-law; Terry and Barb Koscielski, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; William and Faith Schiell, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. On May 20, 1950 she was united in marriage to Girard "Jim" Schiell and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; Stephen and Blanche, one son-in-law; Kirby Cobley, one great grandson; Brian Schiell, one sister; Julie Koscielski, two brothers and one sister-in-law; Daniel and Joann Koscielski and Richard Koscielski and her father-in-law and mother-in-law; William and Gladys (Gravlin) Schiell.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Bay Medical Care Facility for the kind and compassionate care they provided for Mrs. Schiell during the time they cared for her.
The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish - Holy Trinity Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert St. Gohm with private interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday to receive visitors from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Schiell will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to Bay Medical Care Facility or to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry of Corpus Christi Conference.
