Gilbert D. Johnson, Jr.

Johnson, Gilbert D. Jr. Bay City, Michigan Gilbert passed away peacefully Saturday, July 19, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side. Age 72 years. The son of the late Gilbert D. and Kathryn (Rodau) Johnson Sr. was born November 27, 1941 in Bay City. He graduated from T.L. Handy High School in 1961. Gilbert retired from Grey Iron Foundry and was a member of U.A.W. Local #668 and after his retirement owned and operate a janitorial services for 10 years. He enjoy boating and received a boating certificate for safety thru the U.S. Coast Guard, also received certificates in janitorial. He enjoyed fishing and most of all he had unconditional love for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of fifty one years the former Jeannette M. Reinhart whom he married on January 12, 1963 in Visitation Catholic Church. Also surviving are three children; Julie Charbonneau, Gilbert D. Johnson III, Lisa and (Travis) Davison, his grandchildren; Nicole and (Shawn) Richardson, Ashley and (Chris) Hutchins, Bethany Johnson, Gilbert D. Johnson IV and his fiancée; Katiee Dobroc, Elizabeth Davison and her fiancée; Cody Hawkins, Heather Johnson, Taylor and Hunter Davison, Lucas Johnson, five great grandchildren; Maci Atkari , Alea Johnson, Dessa and Mariah Hutchins and Ryan Richardson, one sister; Marianne Johnson Morgan, his brother and sister-in-law; Richard and (JoAnne) Reinhart, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his granddaughter; Paige Marie Charbonneau on June 2, 1996, his in-laws; George D. Reinhart in 1969 and Marie J. (Jacobs) Reinhart in 1999. At the request of Gilbert Cremation has taken place. A private family Memorial Service will take place within inurnment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to the Donor's Favorite Charity, American Diabetes Association or McLaren Bay Region Visiting Nurse Services and Hospice.
