Herbert W. Dietlein Kawkawlin, Michigan Mr. Dietlein passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 90 years. He was born April 29, 1924 in Beaver Twp. to Martha (Jammer) and John Dietlein. On August 23, 1947 Herb married the former Elsie Lisius and she survives his passing. He served in the U.S. Navy. Herb retired from General Motors. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. Herb enjoyed square dancing for many years. Besides his wife Elsie, Herb is survived by three children, James (Jane) Dietlein of Midland, Barry (Cheeta) Dietlein of Brasher Fall, NY and Susan (Philip) Loth of Elkhart, IN; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Earl (Gloria) Dietlein; a sister, Irene Seafert; four sisters-in-law, Ilene Dietlein, Irma Gies, Esther Hempel and Marion Lisius; and many nieces and nephews. Herb was predeceased by his parents, John and Martha Dietlein; a brother, Arthur Dietlein; two sisters, Lorna Douponce and Doris Schwiebert; and his in-laws, Harold and Agnes Lisius, Elmer Lisius, Elmer Gies, Gordon Hempel, Frank Seafert and Frank Douponce. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Seafert with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Dietlein will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. Bartholomew Ev.
