Holsapple, Herbert Martin (Jack) Bay City, Michigan Mr. Holsapple age 85 years, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Brian's House after battling multiple health issues for many years. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on March 8, 1925 and was adopted by the late Otto and Mary Holsapple. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Aviation Boatswain's Mate Second Class United States Navy Veteran during WW II. He owned and operated Holsapple Oil and Furnaces Repair Company for many years and was employed at Resistance Welding Company, Rupp Oil, Beattie Master Pools, Bay County Court House and Bay County Community Center. He loved life, his wife/bride and all his children, family and friends. Here was a creator/inventor exhibiting his wood workings. He enjoyed camping, family vacations and feeding the birds. He was a very patriotic man. He is survived by his wife of sixty one years the former Margaret M. Mieske whom he married on April 30, 1949 along with nine children, Dee (Steven) Sweeney, Michael Holsapple and his friend Diane, Amy Clark, Timothy (Marie) Holsapple, David Holsapple, Denise Jacobs, Julie (Gary) Roth, Heidi (Greg) Marciniak, Lisa (Paul) Spencer; sixteen grandchildren; Stephanie (Jason) Sheffer, Jason Holsapple, Andrew, Aaron and Amelia Clark, Nolan Holsapple (companion Kristy), Lauren and Taylor Holsapple, Nathan (Lori) Voss, Phillip and Emily Roth, Abigail and Samuel Marciniak, Sara, Neil and Sydney Spencer and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son; Herbie Holsapple and one grandchild; Nicholas Vos. The Funeral Liturgy will take place Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 1108 S. Wenona St.. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm . Inurnment will take place Thursday May 20, 2010 at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Fisherville under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.. The vigil for the deceased will take place Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Holsapple will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for the wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
