James A. Kuch, of Bay City, passed away suddenly on Tuesday July 26, 2011 at his residence, age 68. The son of the late Alfred & Emma (Brunner) Kuch, he was born September 6, 1942 in Bay City. James was retired from American Hoist. He was an avid gardener, hunter and outdoors man and enjoyed listening to the Tigers on the radio and watching Lions football. On June 8, 1963 James married the former Karen Sue Ann Richardson and she survives him along with their four children, Terri (Patrick) Wills of North Branch, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Kuch of Kawkawlin, Nanette (Michael) Holt of Bay City and Shelly (Steven) VandeMark of Linwood; three sisters and one brother, Janice Kuch, Beverly (Terry) Morse, Rick (Janet) Kuch and Kathy (Mark) Petrimoulx; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters-in-law; his very special nephews, Scott Witzke, Tim Witzke and Todd Hecox; and mans best friend, his dog Vegas. The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00am on Saturday July 30, 2011 at Gephart Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. Officiating will be Sr. Mary Epple, RSM. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 to 5:00 & 6:00 to 9:00pm and on Saturday from 10:00am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
