Janet Marie Schwab (Palmer) Bay City, Michigan Our loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully late Wednesday afternoon April 15, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region with her family at her side. Age 73 years. The daughter of the late Maxmillion and Helen (Baranowski) Palmer was born October 30, 1941 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor. Even though caring for her children and grandchildren was first and foremost in her life Janet found time to pursue things she enjoyed. Often she was found working in her garden and planting flowers. She enjoyed going on a trip to the casino, a long enjoyable ride in northern Michigan, playing bingo and a loved a good game of cards. Her family includes four children and their spouses; Pamela Marie and Roger Fournier of Midland, Lori Ann and Kirt Kowalski of Bay City, Thomas Elroy Schwab of Bay City and Lisa Janet and Scott Mazure of Sebewaing, seven grandchildren; Derrik, RoseMarie, Kory, Olivia, Kyle, Ahnuh and Adam, two sisters one brother, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Carol and Al Flemmer, Jim and Rosemary Palmer and Betty and Gordon Lewis, Robert Ostash, Marlene Gripentrog, Eldean and Larry Gandy and Dorothy Schwab and many nieces and nephews. On December 31 1965 she was united in marriage to her husband Elroy J. Schwab and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2004. Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sisters; Joan Langley, Eileen Ostash and Helen McQuarter and two brothers; Robert and Fred Palmer. Funeral Services will take place Monday, April 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor (Salzburg and 8 Mile Road). Officiating will be Rev. David F. Sherry with a private family Committal Service at Fremont Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday to receive visitors from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Schwab will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to Trinity Lutheran Church "A Time To Build" or the American Heart Association will be available.
