Jon F. Schultz

Jon passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at home with his dogs by his side. Age 55 years. He was born July 23, 1960 in Bay City. Jon owned and operated the Bier Garten. He was a member of the Bay City Yacht Club. Jon enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but his greatest joy was having his grandchildren over to go swimming, he also enjoyed spending time with his German Shepherd's; Laynie, Charly and Payton. Jon also enjoyed watching Tiger baseball and NASCAR. Left behind to cherish memories of Jon are his wife the former Shelly Malmo whom he married July 18, 2015, his mother; Joan Schultz, one daughter; Cayla Schultz and her fiancée; Mark Blair, his grandchildren; Alexis, Seth, Adelyn, Mason, Jameson and McKenna, two brothers; Greg Schultz, Jon's twin; Jim (Julie) Schultz, his nieces and nephews; Geoffrey, Franklin, Michael, Lindsi, Zachary, his great nephew and nieces; Beau, Lulu and Gabriel, his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Ken and Cindy Malmo, his brothers-in-law and sisters in-law; Paul (Lisa) Malmo, Kelly Green, Jennifer McIntyre and Jeannette (Jake) Bell, many aunts, uncles and cousins, his special lifelong friends; Tim Smith, Jay Elowsky, Asgeir Sigurdsson and Pete Sedmak. He was preceded in death by his father William D. Schultz and his sister; Deborah "Debbie" Schultz-Kaczmarek. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be celebrated Saturday, August, 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Vincent de Paul Church 2956 E.N. Union Rd, Bay City, MI 48706. The celebrant will be Rev. John S. Sarge with cremation following. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place at 7:00 p.m. Jon will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
