Judy A. Kempf

Judy passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Covenant Health Care-Cooper. Age 74 years. The daughter of the late Theodore and Alyce (Nemode) LaFear was born November 24, 1941 in Bay City, Michigan. Judy was a very active member of Auburn United Methodist Church. She retired from the Bay Arenac School District as a special education teacher and touched many lives through her teaching. Judy enjoyed cross stitching, knitting, painting her husband's wood carvings. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and camping. Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of fifty years, Donald W. Kempf whom she married July 17, 1965, one son and daughter-in-law; Douglas and Lisa Kempf, two sisters and one brother-in-law; Marilynn Warren, Linda and Charles Bennett, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one daughter; Kimberley Ann Kempf. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Friday, January 15, 2016 at Auburn United Methodist Church (207 S. Auburn Rd., Auburn, Michigan 48611). Officiating will be Rev. Duane Harris with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday to receive family and friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Judy will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
