Karen Ann Mullen passed away peacefully surrounded by her family early Saturday morning April 14, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 59 years. Karen was born in Bay City on June 18, 1958 to Chet and Millie (Clifford) Pawloski. Karen married Jim Mullen on December 20, 1980 in Bay City. She was an active member of Our Lady of Peace Parish where she cantered and sang in the choir. She worked for Bay Arenac Behavioral Health as an accountant for many years. In her free time she enjoyed doing puzzles, word games, fishing and bingo. She was gentle and generous and loved her family and spending time with them.
Karen is survived by her husband, Jim; children, James (Sherrie) Mullen, Christopher (Andrea) Mullen, Jenny (Chad Gotham) Mullen and Kristina (Chris Vargo) Mullen; grandchildren, Colton, Ethan, Jamison, Josanna and Adalia; parents, Chet and Millie Pawloski; brother, Jim (Kathy) Pawloski; sisters, Mary Pawloski and Joan (Sam) Metropoulos; Aunts, Betty and Pat; many nieces and nephews; dearest friends, Sally Roby and Ernie Klann; and many other family, friends and loved ones.
Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Our Lady of Peace Parish - St. Mary's Church. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak with private interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Mullen will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass.
