Katherine M. Smale

Smale, Katherine M. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Smale passed away Wednesday morning June 9, 2010 at The Carriage House of Bay City. Age 85 years. She was born December 12, 1924 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. She was a member of the former V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 485 and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Kawkawlin-Linwood Post 6950. She retired from Bay City Public School as the Secretary of Lincoln School. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Mary Ann and Lawrence Bush of Portage, MI, one son; David and Sandra Royal of Bay City, eight grandchildren; Nicholas Royal, Kristin Royal, Justin Royal and Megan Royal, Jaysen Bush, Lyndsay and David Berkenpas, Daniel Bush and Benjamin Bush and two great grandchildren; Calvin and Eric Berkenpas. She was preceded in death by her husband George Smale. The family of Mrs. Smale would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at The Carriage House of the kind and compassionate care they extended to Katherine during the time that she resided at the Carriage House. Funeral Services will take place Friday, June 11, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor Thomas Teall with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of the services.
