Larry passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 79 years. He was born in Bay City on April 29, 1941 to the late Alfred and Fern (Prindle) Alcorn. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, was honorably discharged and a member of the DAV. He worked and retired after many years from Bay City Chevrolet. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and going to the casino.
Larry is survived by his children, Lori (Bruce) Obermiller, Paul (Tammy) Alcorn and Tammi Alcorn; grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Evan (Val) Alcorn and Stephen Bauer; great grandson, Elijah VanSumeren; sisters, Nancy (Gerald) Engelhardt and Drenda (Ron) Haut; special dog, Daisy and two best friends, Floyd and Ron. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Mike Alcorn.
Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Campbell with interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. We are currently still under the governor's executive order of social distancing and limited to 25 visitors in the chapel at one time.
