Mr. Cramer passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Bay Shores Nursing Care Center at the age of 88 years. The son of the late August and Mildred (MacDonald) Cramer was born May 18, 1924 in Bay City, Michigan. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He owned and operated the Kawkawlin City Dairy and the Halfway House Bar in Linwood. Mr. Cramer was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Kawkawlin-Linwood V.F.W. Post#6950, Elks Club of Houghton Lake, U.C.T. #51, the Elf Khurafeh Shrine Temple in Saginaw. He enjoyed driving the bus to the Shriner's Hospital, golfing and fishing. Mr. Cramer served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. On the U.S.S. Cassin Young which is now a museum ship in the Boston Harbor. He is survived by his wife the former Norma M. Pacholke whom he married May 12, 1956. Also surviving are three children and their spouses; Brenda and Thomas Dore of Kawkawlin, MI, Brent and Sandy Cramer of Castle Rock, CO, Sam and Theresa Cramer of Pinconning, MI, his grandchildren; Michael, Matt and Kevin Dore, Lacie and A.J. Cramer, his great grandchildren; Mackensie, Tanner and Gavin Dore, one step brother; Bernard Girard of Jacksonville, FL, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; Tom and Linda McGivern and Jean Pacholke, one niece; Sandy Dixon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son; Mark Cramer, a daughter; Ruth Cramer his brother and sister-in-law; John and Angeline Cramer, his step-brothers and step-sister. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to Josh, Carrie and John from McLaren Home Health Care, also the staff of Bay Shores Huron Wing Rehab unit for their loving care. At the request of Mr. Cramer cremation has taken place and no services or visitation are being planned. Inurnment will take place later in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Memorial Cards for Faith Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home.
