Louis "Louie" L. Schnell

Louis L. Schnell "Louie" Bay City, Michigan Our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 79 years. The son of the late Emil and Ella (Rowden) Schnell was born March 5, 1937 in Bay City and has resided in this area all of his life. Louie was an active member of Kawkawlin Community Church, retired as a Mason Contractor, was a member of the Moose Lodge # 169, American Legion Post 0136 in Florida and proudly served his Country for thirty years in the Unites States Army National Guard. On August 3, 1968 he married the former Carol F. Meir in Kawkawlin Community Church and she is left to cherish his memories along with four children and their spouses; Patricia and Perry Tremble of AuGres, MI, Ronald and Krystal Schnell of Denver, Co, Pamela and Kenneth Lincoln of Sault Ste Marie, MI and Richard (Lynette Kroczaleski) Schnell of Standish, one step son; Gary Forro of Tampa, FL, twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, one brother and sisters-in-law; Russell and Betty Schnell of Bay City, one sister and brother-in-law; Mary Beth and Michael Wlodarczak, his half- sister; Mary Jo Bjon, his special aunt; Ileean Wackerle of Kawkawlin, sister-in-law; Marilyn Hoist of Bay City, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Ella and Emil he was preceded in death by one stepson; Randy Forro and two brothers-in-law; Ivan Hoist and Gerald Meir. Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Kawkawlin Community Church. Officiating will be Rev. David Dunn with Military Honors following. Private Interment will take place in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday to receive visitors from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Louie will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the wishes of the family.
