Margaret J. Webber, of Essexville, passed away early Friday morning March 23, 2012 at Bay Shores Nursing Center, age 80. The daughter of the late William Joseph & Charlotte Melinda (Chapman) Rye, she was born February 1, 1932 in Bay City. On July 15, 1950 Margaret married William D. Webber and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2006. Margaret was a well known waitress at the former Pat's Place for many years. She then worked at Bay Shores Nursing Center and also with her husband at his businesses he owned. She enjoyed camping, shopping and watching TV. Margaret was the family caregiver and her family was the joy of her life. She most of all enjoyed the time she spent with her family. Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Billie Jean (Harry) Hecht of Bay City and Linda Jo Webber of Essexville; seven grandchildren, Melinda Carnley, David (Aileen) Hecht, Amanda (fiancée, Jeff Londry) Hecht, Heidi (David) Brown, Katie (Cory) Benton, William Webber and Brock Webber; seven great-grandchildren, Gavin, Kyler, Aubriee, Ian, Eli, Carter and Rassie; a sister, Nina Guindon of Bay City; a brother, William Rye of Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Humpert of Reese and Bonnie Conover of Indiana; and several nieces & nephews. Margaret was also preceded in death by her son, Dennis Keith Webber; a sister, Goldie Hayes; her father & mother-in-law, Harold & Ethel Webber; five brothers-in-law, Morgan Hayes, Kenneth Guindon, Harold (Shirley) Webber, Chuck Conover and John Humpert; a niece, Charlotte (Scotty) Kolka; and two great-nephews, Edward Webber and Kenny Guindon. Margaret's family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Bay Shores Nursing Center for the care she received. The funeral service will take place at 1:00pm on Wednesday March 28, 2012 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Marco Salazar with interment following at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 9:00pm and on Wednesday from 12:00pm until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
