Marilyn K. Bishop Essexville, Michigan Mrs. Bishop passed away Tuesday morning October 2, 2012 at her residence, age 75. The daughter of the late John W. and Mary Jane (Fleming) Pennell, she was born July 1, 1937 in Bay City. Mrs. Bishop was a member of Essexville Community Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was formerly employed at Dow Chemical Co. and Kelly Services. Mrs. Bishop enjoyed quilting, bowling, golfing and traveling. On September 5, 1959 Marilyn married Frank I. Bishop, Jr. and he survives her along with their three children, Craig (Holli) Bishop of St. Johns, MI, Amy Jo (Dennis) Weaver and Steven (Julie) Bishop both of Essexville; six grandchildren, Bethany (Erik) Arvo, Megan Bishop, Amara and Janae Bishop, and Alexa and Logan Weaver; her sister, Sandra Smith of Bay City; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Elaine Paeth, Garry (Sharon) Bishop and Richard (Agatha) Bishop; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Bishop was also preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Frank and Laura Bishop; and two brothers-in-law, Albert Paeth and Norman Smith. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Heartland Hospice for the extra special care they gave to Marilyn. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Essexville Community Baptist Church, 1001 Main St. Officiating will be Rev. Donald Buschlen. Private interment will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Bishop will lie in-state at church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Essexville Community Baptist Church Window Fund or Heartland Hospice.
