Michael R. Boyce

Mike passed away peacefully Thursday evening October 15, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region with his family and friends at his side. Age 63 years. The son of the later Bernard and Jean (Haller) Boyce was born March 4, 1952 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He graduated in 1970 from John Glenn High School, continued on with his education at Delta College, retired as a co-partner of the Bay Plastic Machinery Co. and was an expert in his industry traveling throughout the world. In his younger years he was drummer for Slick City Rockers, was an avid hockey player, had a lifelong passion for golf and in his later years he enjoyed cross country skiing. Mike enjoyed socializing with his friends and most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife the former Barbara Ann Baumgardner, one daughter and son-in-law; Jennifer and Kevin Novellino of Kawkawlin, the mother of his daughter; Sherry Taylor of Essexville, three loving grandchildren; Christian, Sebastian, and Isabella, one sister; Susie Grenier of Murrells Inlet, SC, two nephews; Jason Grenier and Scott Grenier and their families, his cousin; Julie and Ed Mueller of Bay City and numerous friends. Be sides his parents Bernard and Jean he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Ned and Doris Baumgardner and one brother-in-law; Roland Grenier.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. At the request of Mike cremation has taken place. The family will be present at the funeral home on Sunday to receive visitors from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the Bay Area Community Foundation for a memorial to be established in his memory at a later time.
