Michael Scott Hoy of Bay City passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Toni and Trish House at the age of 51 years. Michael was born on September 16, 1966 in Midland and graduated from Midland High School. Michael is survived by his mother, Jan Eurich of Bay City; father, Bernie and Sheila Hoy of Midland; sisters, Kerry (Hoy) Hacker of Midland, Jamie (Hoy) and Tony Adamczyk of Houghton Lake; brother, Andrew and Lisa Hoy of Sebewaing. He was also a loving and caring uncle to his many nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly. He was a caring, kind and compassionate soul to his many relatives and friends. Michael was employed by Plastatech Engineering in Saginaw for 24 years. Michael was extremely proud to have served his country as a United States Marine having fought in Desert Storm. The family would like to thank his special friends, Joe Murphy, Francesca Bissonette, Jenna Hannaford (cousin), and his many kind co-workers at Plastatech. A big thank you to the staff and volunteers at Toni and Trish House for the loving care and respect you showed Michael and all who visited him.
Funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Gephart Funeral Home Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson. Committal will follow with military honors under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Gephart Funeral Home Inc. on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Toni and Trish House or the Wounded Warrior Project. Michael, you are now at peace and pain free in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
