Michael passed from this Eternal Life on Thursday February 1, 2018. He was Born in Bay City, Michigan, June 30, 1944. Michael was Confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust and he attended grade school at St. Paul Lutheran of Frankenlust for eight years. Michael was a graduate of T.L. Handy High School in Bay City; following graduation Michael enlisted in the United States Navy, after an honorable discharge he worked for Hagen Ford in Bay City the rest of his life. While he was stationed in Japan he married Satako Schwab in 1965.
Michael is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Howard and LeAnn Schwab of Bismarck, North Dakota; a step sister, Mary Dengel of Bay City; a nephew, Andrew Schwab of Newberg Oregon; a niece, Heidi Bishop of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; two great nephews; three great nieces and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Satako Schwab in 2009; his parents, Edwin and Ella Schwab; his brother, Norman Schwab.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Erv Hutter followed by Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Navy. Private burial will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. The family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday to receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
