Nan Thomas

Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Carriage House of Bay City. Age 88 years. The daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Steele) Heric was born July 20, 1929 in Bay City, Michigan. Nan enjoyed Elvis, going to the casino, and eating Hershey's Nuggets. Mrs. Thomas is survived by six children, Michael (Linda) Thomas, Marilyn (Thomas) Hanley, Janet Schmidt, John (Erika) Thomas, Bob (Judy) Thomas and Barbara Thomas; nine grandchildren, Ashley Keenan, Bradley Schmidt, Taylor Thomas, Emily Thomas, Robert (Cara) George, Christopher (Alysia) George, Kristin Johnston, Matt (Rachel) Hanley and Katy (Todd) Bode; nine great grandchildren, Kellen Keenan, Brody and Maxton Kravetz, Bethany, Connor, Lucy, Mathilda George, Tommy Johnston and Molly Johnston and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Thomas; one brother, Bill Heric; four sisters, Kathleen Allen, Joan Kellermann, Sr. Mary Florence Heric and Mary Louise Rich. Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Fr. Bill Lugger. Private interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial cards for wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
