Mr. Norman F. Tilley, Jr. of Bay City, passed away suddenly at his residence on Tuesday morning, June 9, 2015 at the age of 68. The son of the late Norman F. and Marie (Combs) Tilley, Sr., he was born on October 27, 1946 in Bay City. Norman was a graduate of T.L. Handy High School and then served with the U.S. Army. He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church. Norman retired from the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Bay City after 28 years of employment. He enjoyed playing bingo and lotto. He was a true sports fan, especially the Tiger's. Norman took delight in contributing to many local charities, but his greatest pleasure was in providing for his family.
Mr. Tilley is survived by his three children, Aimee Bogart, Norman F. Tilley, III and Amanda (Jerrad) Lofton, all of Bay City; two grandchildren, Tyler Lofton and Emily Marie Tilley; his close family members, Rosann, Frank and Kim, Pauline and Andy, Lenard and Kate, Paul and Sara, and their children; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Norman was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Tilley; and his sister, Linda Compau.
The Funeral Service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt with Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Army and the Bay County Veterans Council. Private interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., on Friday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
