Paul C. Sowa

Sowa, Paul C. Sandusky, Michigan Formerly of Bay City, Michigan Mr. Sowa passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Stonegate Assisted Living in Sandusky, MI, at the age of 91 years. The son of the late Tomasz and Magdalena Sowa was born February 19, 1926, in Pinconning, MI. He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Church. Mr. Sowa retired from Saginaw Steering Gear as a tool and die repairman. He was a hands on Popsie-Dziadzi teaching his grandkids to throw a baseball and ride a bike. He also was a very determined person always giving 100 percent and extremely devoted to caring for his wife and family. He enjoyed golfing, being involved in various card clubs, and watching the Detroit Tigers. Left behind to cherish his memories is one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Patsy Sowa of Dallas, TX; one daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Stephan Jankowski of Sandusky, MI; three grandchildren, Ryan (Dawn) Sowa, Evan Sowa, and Adam Jankowski; one great grandson, Aiden and one step great grandson, Alex; one sister-in-law, Jean Sowa. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Marie M. Sowa; his sisters and brothers, Catherine Kryzaniak, Sophie Krzysik, Stella Maida, Joseph, Valentine, Walter, John and Frank Sowa. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be celebrated Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Church. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm with private interment in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday to receive family and friends from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and the Vigil for the Deceased would take place at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Sowa will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
