Rev. Raymond D. Wightman

,Wightman, Rev. Raymond D. Bay City, Michigan Rev. Raymond D. Wightman passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday morning February 23, 2011 at Bay Regional Medical Center. Age 49 years. He was born July 12, 1961 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was the Pastor of Fremont Ave United Methodist Church from June 2010-present and previously served as pastor in Hudson, Trenton, Redford, Reese, and Manistique. He was very active in scouting and became an Eagle Scout in 1977, he graduated from Arthur Hill High School class of 1979, earned his Bachelor's Degree from Saginaw Valley State College class of 1983 and his Master's degree from Illiff School of Theology in 1991. He is survived by one son; Kelantae Wightman, his father; David Wightman; brother, Kenneth Wightman; sisters; Janice Peters and Kathryn (Mark) Dewitt; nephews; Matthew & Jason Peters, Alexander & Zachary Dewitt, and Step-mother; Beverly Wightman. Ray was preceded in death by his mother; Lorraine in 1985. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Friday, February 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Jeffrey R. Maxwell with private interment in Kochville Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Friday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for Wishes of the Family will be available at the funeral home.
