Mr. Bader passed away Thursday March 25, 2010 at Bay Regional Medical Center, age 68. The son of the late George & Helen (Bruise) Bader, he was born April 30, 1941 in Caro. Richard retired from the US Air Force after 28 years of service and was stationed in Oscoda at Wurtsmith Air Force Base since 1976. Richard was currently employed with Kalitta Air at Oscoda Wurtsmith Airport. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. On November 16, 1963 Richard married the former Rosemary Olson and she survives him along with three daughters, Ann Bader of Oscoda, Amy Varney and Wendy (Ryan) Gieseke both of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Richard Casey Bader and Jacob Patrick Gieseke; a brother, Larry (Jacky) Bader of Vassar; three sisters, Bernice (Arnold) Schoen of Saginaw, Ilene Tanner of Birch Run and Clarice (Don) Bailer of Frankenmuth; a niece, Mary Lou Cobb of Saginaw; two nephews, Ron Miller of Vassar and Gary Miller of Battle Creek; a sister-in-law, Sharon L. Olson of Seattle, WA; two brothers-in-law, Jerry (Caroline) Olson and Robert (Kathleen) Olson both of Minneapolis, MN; and numerous nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Richard was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Miller; two brothers, Kenneth G. Bader & Robert G. Bader; and a niece, Judy. The funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Tuesday March 30, 2010 at the Gephart Funeral Home, 201 W. Midland St. Officiating will be Chaplain Doug Bassett followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Private inurnment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00pm and on Tuesday from 10:00am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
