Our loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully at his residence on June, 1, 2017 with his family by his side. Age 80 years. The son of the late Cecil and Genevieve (Metevia) Berger was born December 2, 1936 in Saginaw County, Michigan. Mr. Berger retired from Saginaw Steering Gear and was a member of Local #699. He served as a volunteer fireman for Thomas Township. He enjoyed spending time on Londo Lake, boating and snowmobiling, had a great love for animals but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Left to cherish his memories are his children, Craig (Michele) Berger, Robert (Myriam) Berger, Debra (Thomas) Everitt and Darren (Carol) Berger; his grandchildren, Kari (Nick) Messing, Chelsea (Brian) Miller, Christopher Berger, Melissa Berger, Tyler Berger, Ashley (Jeffrey) Kidwell and Shawn Everitt; his great grandchildren, Lilliana, Landon, Miley, Grant and Emersyn; his sisters, Ilene Frost, Susan Bailey and Linda Schade; his sisters-in-law, Patsy Schuch, Barbara Yaworski; his special friend, Barbara Gorog. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Berger; step father, Herbert Elsner; one sister, Phyllis Richardson; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,Wilmetta Rutledge and Mary Light, Chuck Richardson, Vern Frost, Richard Bailey, Rob Schade, Al Schuch, William Yaworski, James Resley and John Resley. The Family would like to extend a special Thank you to the Londo Lake Crew for the support you have given to the family in their time of need. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Lee Austin with cremation following. The family will be present at the funeral home to receive family and friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to Wishes of the Family.
