Robert J. "Bob" Myers Sr.

Myers, Robert J. Sr. "Bob" Bay City, Michigan Bob passed away peacefully Friday, July 17, 2015 at his residence. Age 86 years. The son of the late Arthur and Clara (Ellison) Myers was born February 19, 1929 in Bay City. Bob retired from Hagen Ford where he was employed as the Body Shop manager. He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Campus. Bob was a member of the Bay City Lions Club, Kochville Lions Club, U.S. Power Squadron, Coast Auxiliary, Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #88, and a Scout Master. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954. Bob enjoyed fishing, boating, enjoyed telling jokes and was a great storyteller. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years the former Mary Lou Vaillancourt whom he married July 2, 1949, his children: Robert (Mary Beth) Myers Jr., Bonnie (Mark) Wildman and Connie Myers, his grandchildren; Tyler, Ethan (Jessica) and Joelle Wildman and Krista Myers, his special nephew; Mark (Bonnie) VanVoorhees and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his Sister Sally J. VanVoorhees. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of McLaren Hospice and Dr. Uma Cherukuri for their compassion and care that they gave to Bob. At the request of Bob, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will take place Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Catholic (906 S. Wenona St., Bay City, MI 48706) followed by Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps. The family will be present at the church to receive family and friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
