Roberta 'Bert' G. Gregory

Roberta 'Bert' Gregory, of Avon Park, FL, formerly of Bay City, passed away Saturday evening, May 4, 2013 at the home of her grandson in Harrison, MI, age 85. The daughter of the late Joseph & Inez (Cole) Childs, she was born October 18, 1927 in Bay City. Roberta resided in Bay City all her life until moving to Avon Park, FL in 2002 where she loved growing pineapples. She retired from Prestolite in 1985 after 30 years of service. Roberta was a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Bay City. She served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Knights of Columbus Council #414. Roberta enjoyed playing Mrs. Claus at the Bay City Santa House. Roberta was married to William A. Gregory and he preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Mark L. Gregory in 1973 and William J. Gregory, Jr. in 1994. Roberta is survived by a son, Thomas (Cheryl) Gregory and a daughter, Bonnie McGuire; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. James W. Bessert. Private inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
