Ruth M. Weiss

Mrs. Ruth M. Weiss, of Bay City, passed away Thursday evening, May 18, 2017 at Bayfield Assisted Living, age 88. She was born in Bay City. Ruth was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. Ruth also took great pleasure in her garden and tending to her flowers.
Ruth is survived by her three children, Eileen (Edwin) Dubay, Melvin (Peggy) Weiss and Linda O'Neil; her grandchildren, Trevor Weiss, Nicole O'Neil, Sally (Charlie) Hall, David Mieske and Mike (Shannon) Mieske; her great-grandchildren, Kailah (Jose), Breanna, Madison, Lucas and Cameron; a great-great-grandchild, Jayden; two sisters-in-law, Hulda Weiss and Lenora Weiss; and several nieces and nephews. In 1948 Ruth married Alfred J. Weiss and he preceded her in death in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Vogtmann; her brother, Arnold (Ruth) Vogtmann; a son-in-law, Tim O'Neil; and a granddaughter, Yulonda Mieske.
Ruth's family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the compassionate caregivers at Bayfield and to the outstanding staff of Hospice of Michigan.
The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Rev. Theodore E. Voll. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Weiss will lie instate at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
