Sally passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Close to Home Assisted Living at the age of 84 years. The daughter to the late Fred and Hillis (Haefner) McGowan was born November 11, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan. Sally was a member of the First Congregational Church of Royal Oak, Michigan. Sally loved spending time with her family and friends, gardening and baking.
Sally is survived by her five sons, Enis Charles (Rosanne) Simon, Robert Simon, Dennis (Laura) Simon, David (Pamela) Simon and Daniel (Nichole) Simon; special niece, Pamela Schofield and her significant other Robert Wilson; Sister Carol Benner; ten grandchildren, Jeff (Jennifer) Simon, Lisah (Daryl) Crall, Michael Willey Jr., Benjamin Willey, Adam Willey, Santiago Castillo, Justin (Kerin), Tyler Simon, Brandon Simon, and Elizabeth Simon; five great grandchildren, Lilly, Heather, Micalah, Morgan and Michael. In addition to her parents Sally is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Enis Simon; Son, Richard Simon; Daughter-in-law, Marcia Simon; grandson, Michael Simon and sister, Patsy Schofield.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the employees at Close to Home and Compassus Hospice for the care they provided.
At the request of Sally cremation has taken place and Private Memorial Service will take place at a later date at the First Congregational Church of Royal Oak. Officiating will be Rev. Carrie Orlando. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to Memorial Garden at the First Congregation Church of Royal Oak.
