Shirley passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Toni and Trish House. Shirley was born in Bay City on April 3, 1927 to the late Edwin and Lillian (Kerkau) Kasemeyer. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and retired from the Bay County Sherriff department after many years. Shirley was a member of the Katy Bishop's Animal Friends and the World Wildlife Foundation. She was a past member of the Bay County Animal Control Advisory Board and Bay County Animal Welfare. Shirley had a huge love for animals and was a humanitarian helping neglected and homeless animal's thru the years. She also had an immeasurable love for music including big band, ol' blue eyes and collecting records from the 40's. She also loved her birds at her birdfeaders, but most of all loved her family and her grandchildren and loved dining out with a host of friends.
Shirley is survived by her son, Timothy (Debbie) Nutter; grandchildren, Ashley (Keith) Badour and Danielle (Adam) Lipinski; great grandchildren, Carter and Brantly Badour; many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, George Kasemeyer and sister, Irene Edwards.
Funeral and committal services will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Gephart Funeral Home Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with private burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
