Shirley L. Willman

Shirley L. Willman Auburn, Michigan Formerly of Bay City, MI) Mrs. Willman passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at Auburn Heights Senior Care. Age 87 years. She was born August 1, 1926 in Munger, Michigan and has resided in Bay County all of her life. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, a member of L.F.A. and T N T Camping Club. She spent much of her time taking care her family and being a wonderful mother. She enjoyed attending and driving her children and grandchildren to their events and school functions. Shirley enjoyed attending polka dancing and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family Shirley is also survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law; Sally Kirchhofer, Judy and Tom Rider and Sharon and Jerry Schlicker all of Bay City, five grandchildren; Kevin Kirchhofer, Heather Sartain, Debbie Rider, Matthew and Danielle Schlicker, one brother; Albert Schrader, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Gerald and Patsy Willman and Leona Willman, Lillian Pahssen, Lois Hodgson and many nieces and nephews. On September 11, 1948 she married Donald G. Willman at Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2012 and she was also preceded in death by her mother; Laura Reinke. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to staff at Auburn Heights Senior Care for the kind and compassionate care they extended to Mrs. Willman during the time they cared for her as well as McLaren Visiting Nurse and Hospice. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 1:30p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church 510 W. Ivy St. Bay City, MI 48706. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Wednesday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Willman will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 12:30 p.m. and until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for Zion Lutheran Church will be available.
