Vivian A. Radigan

Mrs. Vivian A. Radigan, age 100, of Bay City, went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 13, 2017.
Daughter of the late Bradley and Gladys (Wagar) Shephard, Vivian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Col. John T. Radigan; two daughters, Mary Radigan and Andrea "Andi" Fischer; four brothers, Francis, Norman, Jack and Glenn Shephard; and two sisters, Norma Shepard and Madeline Carey.
Cherished Mother and Best Friend to her surviving children, Norma "Kitty" (Robert) Prior of Rapid City, MI, Michelle Page of Macomb, MI, Michael "Tim" (Rosemary) Radigan of Morris, IL and Robin (Peter) Sewell of Georgetown, IN; her son-in-law, Howard Fischer of Loveland, CO; Beloved Sister of Audrey Gladen and Alwyn (Viola) Shephard and sister-in-law, Linda Shephard, all of Bay City. She was a loving Grandmother of 16 and Great-Grandmother of 18.
Vivian enjoyed a long and happy life and loved most her family, as she was always finding ways to bring them all together. She lived the military life alongside of her husband for many years, with numerous moves, raising their six children, and then finally settling to their birthplace in Bay City. She was active with music, song, playing bridge and enjoying the adventures of travel. She had an appreciation for singing, volunteering, reading, good manners and laughter. Vivian was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, the former Women's Club of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, the Bay County Historical Society, the Hummel Collector's Club, the American Contract Bridge League and the Bay County Duplicate Bridge Club. As a Master Bridge Player, she successfully competed in many tournaments and enjoyed playing with friends in a weekly bridge club. Vivian had also been active with the Hula Cats Rhythm Band and the 4 Queens Quartet of Ruskin, Florida, traveling and entertaining around the St. Petersburg, Sarasota and Ruskin areas where she and her husband had spent many winters.
All of her children's friends called her "Ma", as she always had welcome arms for each and every one. She was just like the Energizer Bunny, as nothing let her batteries wear down! Vivian led a full and enriched life and had a lot of "Spunk" in her, right up until her death. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her, as we are blessed by the legacy she left. We will always hold her close in our hearts and know that the heavens will open, and gladly welcome her with open arms.
The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Trinity Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm. Private entombment will be in St. Patrick Mausoleum.
