William "Bill" James Blair

Blair, William James "Bill" Gladwin, Michigan Formerly of Bay City Our sweet, loving husband, father and grandpa went peacefully home on July 27, 2014 one day before his 81st birthday. Even though we will miss him so much, we are at peace knowing he isn't going to struggle to breathe any more. Bill married the absolute love of his life, the former Betty Lou Wilde on May 5, 1953 and she survives his passing. Together they raised four children; Bonnie (Ross) Huber, Wayne (Shelley ) Blair, Debbie (Don) Perkins and Bill (Mary Beth) Blair. Bill and Betty had sixteen adoring grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Bill Served in the United States Army and was a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a skilled Laborer and was a member of Local 1098 and a life member of VFW Post 7303 in Beaverton. Bill had many gifts, he built many of the homes that his family ever lived in. After Betty he loved hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons and did like going to the casino. Along with his wife Betty and three children he leaves behind a sister Delores William, special sisters-in-law; Frances Dice and Shirley Blair and his brother-in-law; Dick (Lois) Wilde. He was preceded in death by his parents; Leonard and Emma (Schultz) Blair, one beloved son; Wayne, dear grandson; Eric, infant grandson; Nathan, one brother; Len, one sister; Carol and one special brother-in-law; Bill Dice. "We will always remember you and never stop telling all your funny stories." Funeral Services will take place Thursday July 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. 201 W. Midland St. Bay City, MI 48706. Officiating will be Pastor Gerald Swartz with interment following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for the "Wishes of the Family will be available.
