William R. Morrisette, of Bay City, passed away early Sunday morning September 2, 2012 at his residence with his family by his side, age 63. The son of the late William R. and Geraldine (Fleschert) Morrisette, he was born October 13, 1948 in Bay City. William was a graduate of T.L. Handy High School. He retired as an electrician from Bay City Powertrain after 39 years of service and was a member of U.A.W. Local 362. William loved spending time up north at his home away from home on Hammond Bay, especially in the company of his best buddy, Magic. William is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, the former Sandy Samolewski. He was extremely proud of his son, Scott, who also survives. Also surviving are his devoted sister, Pamela Morrisette of Midland, with whom he has shared his final "Nite Nite"; his father and mother-in-law, Edward and Mae Samolewski of Bay City; three brothers-in-law, Kevin (Lori) Samolewski, Patrick (Nancy) Samolewski and Dan (fiancé, Maria) Samolewski, all of Bay City; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and several special friends both here and up north. Mr. Morrisette's family would like to express their sincere thanks to Heartland Hospice and Dr. Cook's office, especially Roxanne, for the excellent care William received. The funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday September 6, 2012 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Meissner. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until time of service.
