Adella Maria Barbara Boes

BOES, Adella Maria Barbara (Schmidt) of AuGres, Michigan, formerly of Bay City. Mrs. Boes passed away Monday, February 2, 2010 at Hoyt Nursing Home in Saginaw. Age 93 years. The daughter of the late John G. and Eva (Buechler) Schmidt was born September 29,1916 in Bay City and resided here most of her life. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, was formerly employed at Samaritan Hospital and retired from Bay Regional Medical Center as the chief of housekeeping. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, fishing and most of all spending time at her home in AuGres and being with her family. She is survived by her children: Barbara Ellen (Dr. John P.) Harris of Saginaw, MI, Rebecca Carol (John F.) Turnwald of Jacksonville, FL, Phillip Lee (Carol) Boes of Bay City, MI, Robert Harold (Wendy) Boes of Bridgeport, MI and Elizabeth Mary (Joseph) Brodski of Saginaw, MI; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one sister, Florence Adams and one sister-in-law, Rae MacPhail. She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Boes; one son, Randall Louis Boes and two brothers, Richard F. Schmidt and Eno A. Schmidt. Funeral and committal services will take place Friday, February 5, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. John W. Wernecke with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Boes will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 12:30 p.m. and until the time of services.
