Aida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the Carriage House Nursing and Rehab Center in Bay City at the age 84. She was born on January 4, 1939 in Salinas, Puerto Rico. She was a nurse for 30 years and then went back to school and received a degree in early childhood education and tutored kids for several years. She enjoyed painting, writing children’s stories, cooking, baking and crocheting. She had such a warm welcoming personality and was always willing to help others. She had a nurturing soul and loved her grandchildren very much.

Aida is survived by her children, Jose (Kerrie) Antonio Marini Jr. and Luz Delia Nelson; grandchildren, Raeden Marini and Maximus Marini and two brothers, Servando Sanchez and Jose Sanchez. She was preceded in death by many siblings.

A brief funeral service will take place on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fremont Cemetery. The family will be present to receive visitors on Friday at the Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The family asks that there would be no pictures taken of Aida during the funeral and visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
